Privacy & data retention policy.

The short version: we only ask for what we need, we look after it, and we delete it when we no longer have a reason to keep it. The longer version is below.

Last updated: September 2026

01Who we are

Rise Her Collective Ltd is a UK based community and events organisation for women founders. For the purposes of UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us through the contact page on this website.

02What we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us. Depending on how you use the site, that can include:

Your name, email address and phone number when you request membership, apply for a programme or register interest in an event.

The details you share in application and interest forms, such as your university, course, business stage or the answers you write in open text fields.

Your LinkedIn profile, website or company name, where you choose to share them.

Your preferences, such as whether you would like to hear about news and events from us.

We do not collect payment details on this website. Event bookings are handled by our ticketing partners, who have their own privacy policies.

03How we use it

We use the information you give us to:

Respond to your membership request, programme application or enquiry.

Manage event registrations and let you know about changes to events you have signed up for.

Send you news, event invitations and resources, but only where you have asked to receive them.

Understand what our community needs so we can shape programmes, events and content that are actually useful.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

04Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the website and our community tools, for example our email and customer relationship platform and our event ticketing partners. These providers process data on our behalf and under our instructions.

We may also share information where the law requires us to, or to protect the rights and safety of our community.

05How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected.

Membership records are kept while you remain a member. If you leave, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 12 months, unless we need to keep it longer for legal or accounting reasons.

Programme and event applications are kept for up to 24 months after the programme or event ends, so we can tell you about future cohorts if you asked us to. Unsuccessful applications are deleted within 12 months.

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.

General enquiries are kept for up to 12 months after the conversation closes.

When data reaches the end of its retention period, it is securely deleted or anonymised.

06Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.

Ask us to delete your data, or to stop using it in a particular way.

Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on.

Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are not happy with how we handle your data.

To use any of these rights, contact us through the website and we will respond within one month.

07Cookies and analytics

This website may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. Where non essential cookies are used, we will ask for your consent first.

08Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new services or the law changes. The latest version will always be on this page. If we make a significant change, we will flag it clearly.

Questions about any of this? Get in touch and we will talk it through.
